Encouraging the Writers of Tomorrow
Welcome to Writer's Block Bookstore! Here we are trying to encourage the authors of tomorrow, today. Below you can see the incredible team that went into making this store everything it is today. We have built our store around a plan to encourage the readers and writers of tomorrow with a comfortable place to read and write, and explore stories different then their own. We have subscription plans to have books chosen by our employees delivered to you each month, online catalogs to see what we have in store and online, and of course our cozy in-person store located on the Delmar Loop.
Our Story
Writer's Block Bookstore started as an idea shared at a book club. We were gathered in a friends basement, and the idea of a bookstore where readers and writers could gather and share a love of stories was just too important to us to ignore. We raised funds by starting our curated Book a Month programs, which still exist as a service today. Using the subscriptions, we steadily grew our infrastructure, business skills, and customer service abilities.
After a while, we met our goal, and using the money we had invested and raised, we bought the location that you know and love, and joined the Delmar Loop community. We owe everything that Writer's Block Bookstore is to all the people who started our love of reading, all of our teachers and mentors (with a special thanks to our business teachers who helped guide us in this endeavor) and of course, you, our wonderful readers and customers.
